Thank you! This was a nice wake up call. I think sometimes I can get into that habit of explaining things, not because I'm unwilling to change them, but because I need to talk through them in order to think about what I'd like to change specifically. I also appreciated your point about how questions don't always need answers, sometimes they're meant to get your brain going! Thanks again!

I never understand why people don't welcome the opinions of others on their writing (excluding things that are just thoughtless abuse) with open arms and minds but I am usually a bit nervous giving it unless i've been plainly asked for it. And isnt that what you go to an editor for in the first place...isn't it sort of implied...that you want the good and the bad.
